Installer-Job Description

Department: Field
Position: Installer
Classification: Hourly
Supervisor: Lead Installer

Installer
Installers will handle all aspects of installing Waterway Boat lift covers;
loading trucks, installing, removal and any additional services directed by
Waterway.

Responsibilities
o Load truck in a safe manner taking care not to damage material
o Make sure that all materials needed for job are on the truck
o Fill out paperwork as required
o Represent the company in a professional manner, in uniform
provided
o Offer client instructions and answer questions if asked
o Use safe methods to install frame and canopy cover
o Perform job in a quick but safe manner
o Review the installation time sheet and make that a goal for time spent
on a job.

Metal Shop Tech – Job Description

Position: Metal Shop Tech

Shop Tech 
We are looking for a skilled manufacturer to cut metals and other materials at our
facilities. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together Waterway
canopy structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as
it provides the foundation for our boat lift cover systems. As a Shop Tech you
must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety
precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention
to detail.

Responsibilities
• Understand drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and
procedures
• Determine the appropriate equipment or method based on requirements
• Set up components for equipment according to specifications (e.g. cut material
with powered saws to match measurements)
• Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Repair machinery and other components
• Test and inspect surfaces and structure to discover flaws
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Fill out time and motion studies on each specific job as directed from time to
time.

Requirements
• Proven experience in manufacturing
• Experience using a variety of equipment and procedures.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing
(face-shield, gloves etc.)

Job Brief
The Permitting position’s most important role is to keep track of all permitting, including county and
city as well as Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for all jobs with permitting requirements
for Waterway Boat Lift Cover installations. This position will analyze what jobs need permits and file
necessary paperwork required for each permittable area.
At the same time, this person will answer phones and when needed assist in the write-ups of service
tickets and replacement covers, collect leads from incoming calls to forward to sales reps and collect
credit card information for deposits and final payments.
This person should represent Waterway Boat Lift Covers in the office and at permitting offices in a
professional manner.

Responsibilities
• Check Voice mails first thing in morning as well as throughout the day.
• Fill out paperwork
• Obtain permits
• Schedule inspections
• Keep the permitting spreadsheet up to date
• Email Lead sheets

Job brief

Installers will load trucks and install boat lift covers.  Installers maybe required to drive truck in a safe manner.  Installers will also perform bungee changes and canopy removals.  

Installers will not smoke while on the dock and will wear Waterway shirts at all time as well as shorts if provided. 

During potential Hurricanes installers will be required to work weekends prior to a hurricane to take down canopies.

Responsibilities

  •  Lays out canvas, rubber, and assembles material into boat lift cover canopies 
  •  Connects sections of material together on power sealing machine.
  •  Installs grommets, metal fittings, and fasteners by machine.
  • Measures and marks off grommet holes on    material and uses heat machine to hold iron ring to edge
  • Package the finished canvas into a canvas cover
