Canopy Installer-Job Description

Department: Field
Position: Canopy Installer
Classification: Hourly
Supervisor: Lead Canopy Installer

Installer
Canopy Installers will handle all aspects of installing Waterway Boat lift covers; loading trucks, installing, removal and any additional services directed by Waterway.  

Responsibilities

  • Load truck in a safe manner taking care not to damage material
  • Make sure that all materials needed for job are on the truck
  • Fill out paperwork as required
  • Represent the company in a professional manner, in uniform provided
  • Offer client instructions and answer questions if asked
  • Use safe methods to install frame and canopy cover
  • Perform job in a quick but safe manner

Aluminum Welder
The aluminum welding position will be responsible to weld aluminum parts to create our canopy structures. The key is to be trainable and learn specific skills to perform as a Waterway welder.

Responsibilities

  • Take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
  • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
  • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
  • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
  • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
  • Fill out time and motion studies on each specific job as directed from time to time.
